Leadership Team 2024
Baseball 4 Christ is pleased to announce the 2024 coaches for this year’s mission team, Cody Bevil and Cameron (Cam) Smith. Both Cody and Cam are former B4C players. Cody is a Northgate High School alum and current coach at Newnan High School. Cam is a East Coweta High School alum and current coach at East Coweta High School. We are excited and thankful to have Cody and Cam as part of the 2024 Leadership Team.
Joel Smelley Jr.
Joel will be serving as Mission Pastor/Advisor for the 2024 team. Joel is Senior Pastor of Heatherwood Baptist Church in Newnan, Georgia. He has been married to his wife, Kim since 2006, and they have three girls; Lilly Kate, Gracie, and Avery.
Joel has a strong desire to invest in and train the next generation of pastors and church leaders. Joel has been on and led mission trips all around the world. He is a graduate of Jacksonville State University, Southeast Baptist Theological Seminary, and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Joel is an avid fan of the game of baseball, playing competitively throughout his high school years. This will be Joel’s first trip with Baseball 4 Christ. His favorite Bible verse is Psalm 1:1-3, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law he mediates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.
Brian Morgan
Brian has been with Baseball 4 Christ from its inception, as well as Co-Founder of Baseball 4 Christ.
Brian currently serves as Area Director for Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Coweta County, Georgia. Prior to joining FCA, Brian was a student pastor for twelve years serving in Florida and Georgia. He has two adult children- Briana, an author, and Levi, an actor. Brian, and his wife Christi, can be seen regularly on the area campuses of Coweta County schools, loving and serving students and coaches. Brian and Christi attend Newnan CIty Church. Brian’s favorite Bible verse is Habakkuk 1:5, “Look at the nations and watch-and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.”
Mike Winslett
Mike is the Founder and Executive Director of Baseball 4 Christ. Mike, along with Brian Morgan saw and acted on the vision God gave them to start B4C in 2008. Baseball 4 Christ made its first mission trip in 2009. Mike’s full time position the past twenty-five years has been President & CEO of DTH Expeditors, Inc. DTH is the sponsor and main benefactor of Baseball 4 Christ. DTH is named after his three children; Drew, Tyler and Hannah. Drew serves as Chief Legal Counsel at DTH, and is married to Lindsey Parker Winslett, Chief Strategy Officer at DTH. Tyler is the Chief Operating Officer also at DTH; and Hannah teaches third grade at McLendon Elementary School in Decatur, Georgia. All of Mike’s children and daughter in law attended Mercer University. Mike has been married to his wife, Cyndi for the past thirty-seven years. Cyndi is very active in the community serving along with Mike in numerous ventures. Mike and Cyndi attend Heatherwood Baptist Church and Newnan has been their home for the last twenty-eight years. Mike’s favorite Bible verse is Philippians 1:3, “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.”
Isai and Nathan MacDonald
Isai and Nathan serve as part of the local ground operations team in Mexico. Isai and Nathan are brothers who also serve as missionaries in the Yucatan area of Mexico. Gracia Abundante is their home church based in Cancun, Mexico. Isai and Nathan both have a fifteen year relationship with Baseball 4 Christ. The entire MacDonald family serves as missionaries and host mission teams from the United States serving all areas of Mexico. The family is truly the hands and feet of Jesus.
